Ruth Girls Institute (RGI) is Prakash Institutes
of India’s vocational school for young women.
Ruth Girls Institute facilities opened for classes in the
fall of 2006.
RGI courses are two years (24 months) long.
Ruth Girls Institute’s facilities include an open
air lobby, six classrooms, a library, offices, staff lounge
area, an open air amphitheatre and an auditorium which seats
400+. The housing building contains dormitories,
the dining
hall, kitchen facilities, recreation room, study hall and
warden apartment.
The projected capacity of Ruth Girls Institute is 120 young
women.
As a forerunner to RGI, Prakash Institutes partnered with
Church plants to sponsor sewing classes
for Indian women and girls. In February 2002, the Prakash
Institute of India Board of Directors voted to build a school
for young women on its Nagpur campus. Nagpur Improvement
Trust granted sanction for the expansion in November 2003.
